Now here’s a quote that should stir up interest about the upcoming fifth season of True Blood. MTV caught up with Ryan Kwanten, Janina Gavankar, Carrie Preston and Joe Manganiello at the HBO Golden Globes party and Manganiello dropped this tidbit about his character Alcide Herveaux.

"We've seen that he's a sweet guy; we've seen that he's the kind of guy that would be great in a relationship," Joe said. "I think that you're going to be introduced to a side of him that's going to slam you up against the wall and go for it."
 

In other True Blood news, Deadline is reporting that Twilight and Sanctuary star Christopher Heyerdahl has been cast as Dieter Braun, “an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation.”

The struggle for control of the Seven Kingdoms heats up in the second season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. Now the cable network has released a new teaser hinting even more intrigue and bloodshed, as Robert Baratheon's (Mark Addy) brother lays claim to his dead sibling's throne. Hangover star Bradley Cooper has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2011.  Other Hollywood hunks who made the list, but missed out of the top spot include: The Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth, Luther star Idris Elba, Captain America himself Chris Evans, country crooner Tim McGraw, The Good Wife’s Josh Charles, Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa and actor Ryan Gosling, among others. How did Cooper react to the title?

"I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," saysthe Hangover actor, 36. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

More trouble is headed for Bon Temps next season. According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, True Blood has cast Lucy Griffiths as Godric's (Allan Hyde) progeny Nona. So this makes her Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) play sister. Reportedly, Nona is working within the Vampire Authority, but playing both sides. Griffiths has been signed on as a series regular. Nona is considered to be smart, forceful, level-headed when drama ensues and loves her "brother" Eric to bits.

Atlantic City’s upstanding criminals are getting another season.  According to Deadline, HBO has ordered a third season of Boardwalk Empire. Reportedly, the premium cable series–starring Steve Buscemi, Kelly MacDonald, Shea Whigham, Michael Pitt and Michael Shannon–has been pulling in a combined airing average viewership of 10.7 million this season.
