Baywatch the Movie, a Comedy?

This just in. Variety is reporting that Baywatch is coming to the big screen, as a comedy. No mention is made of whether or not David Hasselhoff, Yasmine Bleeth or Pamela Anderson would appear in the film.

"It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to 'Stripes' and 'Police Academy,' the comedies I loved growing up," Garelick said. "Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were," Garelick said.

There may have been things to laugh at when watching Baywatch, but I never thought of it as a "broad comedy."  It will be interesting to see how this project develops.

Should a Baywatch movie be a drama or a comedy?

A Baywatch movie should be dramatic, not a comedy.

As long as there are hot people in swimsuits I don't care which it is.

Let's face it, Baywatch was a comedy in dramatic clothing.

With the exception of The Hoff and Pamela Anderson, most of the Baywatch actors have disappeared.

I did read an article about Jaason S. He came out and explained that he and his partner had adopted a child.

Gina Lee Nolin? Yasmine Bleeth? What happened to the rest of the cast? Anyone know?

Unforunately, Billy Warlock can't even seem to get a job on soaps these days.

Uhm...Baywatch as a straight up comedy strikes me as weird. All I know is that I miss my Billy Sad
