The wait is over for fans wanting a little peek at Rock Of Ages' transformation onto the big screen. The first trailer has hit the web for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and boy is it a doozy. The fourth installment of the Tom Cruise franchise finds Ethan Hunt and his IMF team disavowed by the President and on the run. If caught they will be branded terrorists for inciting nuclear global war.

Featuring explosive action, intense car chases and a lot of ass kicking, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol stars Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Josh Holloway. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol floats into theaters in December.

We already told you that NBC was developing a drama series based on the hit film The Firm (which in turn was based on John Grisham's bestselling novel). Now, Deadline confirms that Josh Lucas has been cast as the lead (played in the film by Tom Cruise). Here is a bit of the official statement from NBC:

Based on the blockbuster feature film and the best-selling novel of 1991, with seven million copies sold by world-renowned author Grisham, "The Firm" continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere (Lucas) who, as a young associate, brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob.  After a difficult decade, which included a stay in the Federal Witness Protection program, McDeere and his family now emerge from isolation to reclaim their lives and their future -- only to find that past dangers are still lurking and new threats are everywhere.

Flight deck, we have a problem. After recent reports a Top Gun sequel is in the works E! Online caught up with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and questioned him about the film. While not ruling out the film, he doesn’t give fans much hope Top Gun 2 will jet into theaters any time soon.

"You know, it's a long ways away," Bruckheimer said at last week's BAFTA L.A.'s Britannia Awards. "We've been talking about it since the movie came out and it was a big hit.

"Tom Cruise took a run at it many years ago and we just couldn't crack it. So we'll see what happens now."
