Shonda Rhimes Sells ABC Period Soap About NYC Luxe Hotel

TV dramas set in the past is still the hot trend. According to Deadline, Shonda Rhimes has sold ABC the drama, Gilded Lillys. The show revolves around the staff working at New York City's first luxury hotel in 1895 and the family that owns it. Reportedly, The Nine's co-creator KJ Steinberg will serve as the show's writer. He will also act as executive produce with Rhimes and Betsy Beers.

Kerry Washington to Headline Shonda Rhimes Pilot

Deadline is reporting Kerry Washington has been cast as the lead in the new Shonda Rhimes pilot, In Crisis. According to the site, the pilot will focus around Washington's character Olivia Price who runs a crisis management firm and and her crazy staff. The concept is based on the career of crisis consultant Judy Smith. The Losers and Death at a Funeral star Columbus Short has also signed on to play a lawyer at the firm.

ABC Gives Shonda Rhimes and Salma Hayek Series Good News

We have finally found out when ABC plans to premiere  Shonda Rimes' South American medical drama Off the Map. According to Deadline, Off the Map will premiere on Wednesday January 12 in the 10 p.m. EST time slot left empty by The Whole Truth’s cancellation.

In other ABC news, according to Variety, the network has bought another telenovela adaptation from Ugly Betty executive producer Salma Hayek. Roldan, based on the Argentinian show Los Roldan, is said to have Ugly Betty’s “comedic undertones.”

The show follows a working-class man who saves the life of a woman. She then hires him to run her company -- much to the chagrin of her family.

I See Dead People



I'm not talking about General Hospital's very dated opening but Grey's Anatomy does seem to be pulling a few pages from GH's storybook. It's ok, GH recycles all the time, another show might as well benefit from their stellar example.

Michael Ausiello is giving readers a little insight into the ghostly storyline that is going on with Dr. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Hiegl) and her dead Fiance Denny. Grey's Shonda Rhimes, who is a General Hospital fan, had said that Izzie is not suffering from a brain tumor ala Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher).
