Michael Jackson's Estate Earned $310 Million Since His Death

The Michael Jackson estate has earned an impressive $310 million dollars since the pop icon’s death in 2009, according to TMZ. Reportedly, at the time of Jackson’s death the estate had $400 million in various debts and another $40 million in liabilities related to the This Is It tour. The estate has paid off $159 million in debt, income taxes and expenses such as the "uninterrupted support for Mrs. [Katherine] Jackson and Michael Jackson's children as Michael intended."

Grossing $101 milliion worldwide, according to Variety, This Is It is the smash everyone predicted. Not surprising Michael Jackson's tribute film is a massive draw for fans everywhere. Jackson, self proclaimed "King of Pop," is one of those rare individuals that transcends borders and truly belongs to everyone. This Is It L.A. Premiere Red Carpet


Young and old Hollywood came together for the L.A. premiere of This Is It, the documentary and tribute to Michael Jackson's legacy, on October 27, 2009. The film, which will only appear in theaters for two weeks, opened Wednesday, October 28.

Celebrities walking the red carpet included Jackson family siblings Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon, singers Adam Lambert, Macy Gray, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Paula Abdul, actors Will Smith, Vivica A. Fox, Anne Heche, Eric Winter, Roselyn Sanchez, Mickey Rooney and celebutante Paris Hilton, among others.
