James Franco to Debut Tribute Film to Dead Actor Whose Name He Carved in Shoulder




Renaissance man James Franco is set to debut his indie film tribute to late actor Brad Renfro.  According to Contact Music, Franco will showcase, Rebel which focuses on Renfro at the Venice Biennale art festival in Italy. Franco, who carved Renfro's name in his shoulder, told Playboy

Heath Ledger died a week after Brad, and I feel Brad has been forgotten already. They didn't even mention his death at the Oscars that year.

Renfro died in 2008 from a heroin overdose.

James Franco Returns To General Hospital

Franco-mania commences in the new year. According to TV Guide's Michael Logan, James Franco will reprise his role on General Hospital in 2011. The actor will head to Port Charles the day before his hosting duties at the Oscars, Feb 27 and will continue the day after. Franco will stick around GH a bit longer later on in the year. Showrunner Jill Farren Phelps stated: 
When we realized James would be in L.A. for the Oscars and all the other awards shows, we asked if he'd consider coming back and doing a little something for us," Phelps says. "He was happy to do it and requested that we use the appearance to plug his next story. He's also expressed an interest in directing at GH. He's been really, really good to us. Whatever James wants, we'd love to make it happen!"

General Hosptial guest star James Franco was listed on Ask Men.com's Top 49 Influential Men of 2010 at Number 7. According to the site:
