The Sunday Mail is reporting that a Blade prequel is in the works. This is set to be made into a trilogy of films centered around Deacon Frost, the orginial baddie from the first Blade film released in 1998 and featured Wesley Snipes in the title role. Stephen Dorff played the evil bloodsucker Deacon Frost in the film and is set to return in the new set of prequels.

Stephen is thrilled to revive the Frost character with Blade director Stephen Norrington. The actor told us: "It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon's story. It's a new trilogy the director has created. It will cool. "We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake."

No word yet if Wesley Snipes will return to the movie franchise.
