Alice in Wonderland - A Magical, Mad Adventure, Filled with "Impossible Things"

When the prospect of creating a 21st century remake of Alice in Wonderland to compliment the 1951 classic arose in Tinseltown, it’s doubtful anyone had to consult a sagacious blue caterpillar before unanimously agreeing upon Tim Burton to stand at the helm. Disney Is Still On the Move and Guillermo Del Toro With it

Just in: Multi-Media player Disney moves to corner the fantasy genius of Guillermo Del Toro. Another match made in Mouse House heaven. According to the LA Times' Russ Fischer at latimes.com, Del Toro's plans with Disney include forming the new Double Dare You production label to create “thrilling, unforgettable moments and villains” and do it for all ages. With the unique director's startling vision, we could see some of the best animation ever.

With the acquisition of Marvel, just think if Del Toro could get a hold of some of the comic book giant’s weirder properties: think Dr. Strange or Fantastic Tales. Those are comic books that have Mr. Del Toro’s name all over them.

Disney has a great history in children’s fantasy (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland) and some good work in the adult realm (Fantasia), so it seems just a small leap to the graphic horror of Del Toro. Will Disney have the stones to let the director of such films as Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy II free reign? I think so; look what Disney’s done with Pixar. READ MORE
