Genie Francis's bad Phoebe Tyler rendition and more...

Okay so I checked out a few clips of Y&R online just to see how Debbie would be integrated. I pretty much flipped through the show as it appears online just to see the "Colored people Parts" , because I hate this show, but I was curious to see Debbie's premiere. So besides the facts that scripts were bad that the reveal of Devon's parentage and the fallout were horrible (even Passions was better at doing big reveals and keeping secrets). Debbie's wig looked horrible. She needs to call up her own hair-dresser and have them allow her to do her hair in her dressing room.

Other then that mess and more mess. I finally shut it off for good again (don't need to see no more) when Genie Francis appeared at the beginning of yesterday's episode acting like a bad Phoebe Tyler recast. She was so over-the-top in the restaurant, while the rest of actors were trying to make the best of bad writing; that she stood out for all the wrong reasons. You see when Judith Chapman does her thing there is something fun about it and good. She also knows how to reel it in and when to expand it. But Genie looked she was doing community theater! I mean this is the woman who played the legendary Laura Spencer on GH. Now she is trying to be a cross between AMC's Phoebe and Julia Child with a dash of Alexis Colby. And it is a hot mess of a performance.

And this ain't just about the writing. Because the best actors and actresses can turn shit-to-sugar and at least let you know that their acting is not the problem (Victoria Rowell was famous for it). So lets just face the facts that Genie's talents do not allow her to play an uber-bitch. Because it is her job to interpret the words in the script and develop the character. Her development skills make Robin Strasser's Hecuba seem like a decent character now.

On a side note: Why do they still have Bryton walking around the set looking a character off Star Track? Like a Borg. This is soap opera! Couldn't they have had some miraculous hearing surgery, like they did with Angie's eyes on AMC?

And you wonder why don't nobody wants to tune in.

Then I got glimpse of of the so-called current don-diva Spit-Take aka Michelle Stafford. And let me tell you Joshua Marrow ain't never been no Shakespearean actor, but Stafford was acting just as mediocre as he was. I mean she wasn't even bringing her C game!

Oh and when we get on bad acting. Gruff McGruff aka Darius McCray was still trying too hard to be hard and ended up sounding like some black caricature of an African American male.

And Julia "I need a pink slip" Pace Mitchell, was just awful. In every scene she looked either lost, constipated, or just plain stupid. Her attempts at emoting or acting like she was pregnant made me think: "If that is the best you got offer as an actress... If this is the reason they hired you... Lawrd have mercy on your soul! Because she can't act. She can't at! "

And given some new writers I would just recast her with Amelia Marshall. Who cares if she goes from a size 16 to a size 6.! We need some soap talent who knows what to do. We don't need no lost in the field Blactors and Blactresses.

And you see this is why Y&R is just...you know...it's...Just a fuckin mess. That's it.

On a final note: CK and Daniel Goddard still stuck and are waste of screentime. Lame fans you are going to face the facts.
