We're thinkning of taking our 8 and 10 year old boys to see it over the holidays.

If you saw it what did you think of it?

I think it's ok. the boys will probably like it, the action is good...Jim Carrey and the ghosts may be a little scary, but the story is intact if a little hidden in the big graphics. they are old enough...

I really wanted to see it and many other movies this season but didn't get a chance due to my hectic schedule.  From what I've heard from a friend it a visually treat.  I don't know if it is a good movie but I heard that it looks really good.  I guess kinda like what some people felt abuot Beowulf (2007).

Well we saw it - Our boys liked it but I was not a fan.  Visually it was fun to watch, but I thought it went over the top or strange at times - like when Jacob Marley's ghost jaw dropped and his tongue became almost snake-like  or when Scrooge shrunk (must have missed that in the original stories)

Luckilly my boys had seen a stage version of it last year, so they were prepared for the scary parts.  The movie is not for young kids IMO.

It is worth a DVD rental.

I was not really a fan, but I thought the kids would like it... There have been so many versions that were better.

I agree with you completely...I have seen many better versions.  it's too bad that Disney couldn't have done a better job introducing kids to a classic...

As a movie i enjoyed it, i didn't really enjoy the parts where they were demonstrating the 3D aspect, and actually i hated the 3D part as a whole (Stupid glasses) .

With that said i did enjoy the movie and i look forward to seeing it again on DVD (This time in SD so i don't have to have a headache lol).
