Deadline is reporting Ryan Phillippe has bowed out of an upcoming television drama for CBS. According to the site, Phillippe departed the Nick Wootton and Greg Berlanti cop series over his uneasiness of being on a network series. Two weeks ago, the actor signed onto the series revolving around an officer who skyrockets from a police officer to a detective and then police commissioner.

Well he is filming the final season Of Damages for FX/DirectTV. Maybe he perfers Cable. Probably better suited. Get him on that new Aaron Sorkin show, Or Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men Or Shameless

I was surprised when I first heard that he's joining a network pilot. I think he would be better on cable too. Smile I think Boardwalk Empire could be a great fit now that Michael Pitt is gone.

Don't we already have enough cop dramas? This is why I stopped watching TV years ago. Too much unoriginality.
