Private Practice Stages an Intervention

Tonight’s two-hour Private Practice is sure to be emotionally explosive. For months we’ve watched as Amelia’s (Caterina Scorsone) life has unraveled, thanks to her drinking and drug problem. Individually, members of Seaside Wellness have tried to help Amelia, but she’s rebuffed them at every turn. Tonight, they come together for an intervention, which gets ugly.
The evolution of this storyline has provided a lot of drama for Private Practice, but I must admit being disappointed that the intervention wasn’t used as an opportunity for a crossover by Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy. Watch the trailer for Private Practice’s two-hour November sweeps intervention episode after the jump!

Watching right now. This is almost perfect TV. Great writing, acting, realistic....gritty!

I was a bit disappointed as well there was no Derek crossover. And I had actually read somewhere that he would be in the episode....and realized after a while that it was referring to the flashbacks. Otherwise, great episode.
The Violet/Pete stuff was....heartbreaking. It's been clear Pete hasn't been happy in the marriage. And it was sad watching Violet hoping he say the opposite.
Tired of the Addison/Sam stuff. Not because of the story itself. But the conversation is running in circles. At least last night, the two sort of made headway in their stances and had a bit of sense. But I just can't believe these two, seemingly smart adults continue to delude themselves that this would ever work

Not having PD crossover was the only major flaw/missed opportunity in the arc. Really could've kicked an already great episode up notch. Those were some barbs Amelia whipped out at the others while strung out. I'm glad they finally gave the actress something meaty.
It was heartbreaking see how Violet loved Pete enough to leave. Where does the Pete character go from here? With Violet I see possibilities, but Pete, however, I'm not sure.
Addison & Sam have both really gone down hill with this IVF arc. Someone needs to step up to plate & make a definitive choice. At this point I don't care which way it is. This limbo is simply a nuisance.
