Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) has been one of my favorite TV characters since she first swept into Seattle Grace on Grey's Anatomy, and I loyally followed her to Oceanside Wellness when Private Practice premiered. In my opinion, the last few seasons of Private Practice have been consistently better than its predecessor. However, something about this season has felt off.
Addison and Sam’s (Taye Diggs) relationship has been strained this season because of his lack of interest in having another child, while Addison is feeling the ticking of her biological clock like a thud.
How are we as viewers supposed to invest in this couple, when he’s so unwilling to be the father of her baby? Are we expected to believe that after refusing to be the biological father, he’s all of a sudden going to sign up as diaper changer and late night baby feeder? Conversely, Addison’s decision to put her need for a baby, over the wishes of the man she’s supposedly in love with, makes one question how much she actually loves Sam. Both know what they want, but they are on different paths.
The introduction of Dr. Jake Reilly (Benjamin Bratt) has thrown yet another twist in Addison and Sam’s relationship. Addison left Seattle Grace to start fresh, find herself and figure out what she wants out of life. Now that she knows what she wants and is working so hard to get it, keeping an unwilling partner around seems like a stagnant effort in futility.
Is it time for Addison to dump Sam and try on Dr. Jake for size?

I liked Addie from the very moment that she hit GA and love her on PP. My vote was for Addie to move on away from Sam and even if things don't work out with Jake, she should look into using a sperm donor for her baby.

Addi's endgame is becoming a mother ... not having a man in her life. So screw Sam, screw Jake ... let it just be Addison on her own. Sperm donor sounds like the perfect idea.

I've never been a Sam fan anyway. He has an awful tendency of pitching a fit when things aren't going his way.
Addison needs to realize that she and Sam want TOTALLY different things out of life, and it's just not going to work
And then she needs to climb Jake like a tree.

Addie is living her best friend Renee's old life with Sam. It's a little creepy..lol Addie should want more than Renee's ex-husband with the possibility of having the man's baby when he is not wanting another child. I still vote for Addie going to the sperm bank which means she doesn't have to deal with either Sam or Jake!

My love for Addison stopped as soon as she got with her best friend Niaomi's husband! Why would she do that to her best friend? They have been best friends since Med school. Addison,Mark,Derek,Sam and Niaomi and Addison sleeps with her husband's best friend and now Nia's husband.
She saw the pain Nia went through when Sam just divorced her for no reaason. I remember when Addison asked Sam why he divorced Nia and he could give no reason and Addison falls for a man who would do that?!
Break up Sam and Addison and get rid of (KILL) Derek's little sister, PLEASE!
To this day I still wish they would have done the Mark/Addison/Karev love triangle. Mark's love for Addison was so great. I loved them.

I gotta take up for my main man Sam here. The man just does not want another child. Same has already been that route and I think Addy believed that she could convince him time to think differently. Since Sam has already been that route then he has every right not to want to go there again.
As for Addy maybe it is best for her to find someone who wants to be the father of her child or get the sperm from the BofA
. Yet I caution from a psychological standpoint not to want a child because your biological clock is ticking. There has to be more to it than that.
