Jamey JUST said today to stop making cruel remarks about actors' appearances or else your posts--and quite possibly your account--might be zapped. Why must you always be so harsh and unnecessarily cruel? It takes less effort to be nice than it does to be mean! Didn't your kindergarten teacher ever teach you that?

Amen Alston...we just got rid of one negative nelly and now we have another. An Emmy most of us can get passionate and yeah some of us are sarcastic but very few of us are out and out cruel and certainly not post after post like this. Yesterday it was BA today its NF and SBu. I dont get it. These people NEVER harmed you personally, so why must you get personal. Consider me SQUARELY in agreement with Alston.

I am the KING of sarcasm, and will be the FIRST to call out someone for being a crappy actor, hideous wardrobe or hair choices or for their personality defects, but you won't catch me making fun of someone for something that they have little to no control over. I have referred to certain actresses who have gotten Botox or hideous cheek implants as looking animalistic, but I think that anyone who PURPOSELY massacres their own face deserves it. But now that Jamey has made it CRYSTAL clear that we need to stop making negative comments about actors's looks, I probably won't be doing that again. I don't want my account zapped.
Other than that, I stay ABOVE the belt.

Elbugten I actually think this is important. When we have posters trashing the actors and no one says anything not only does the behavior continue but it encourages others to follow suit. And worse, it lowers the level of discourse and scares away long term posters - we JUST saw this happen in the GH threads and it was only when basically most of the long time posters came together that change happened. I think its critical to nip this kind of thing in the bud because that sends a message about the type of board almost all of us want.
