Sarah Michelle Gellar Isn't Trying to Best Buffy With Ringer
The CW’s Ringer is one of the most anticipated new series of the fall, in no small part due to the fact it means Buffy the Vampire Slayer icon Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to TV. However, that doesn’t mean Gellar is taking her loyal legions of Buffy fans for granted. According to TV Guide, Gellar told reporters at the 2011 Comic-Con she’s not trying to compete with her iconic previous series.
"I'm not trying to re-create Buffy and I'm not trying to top it," she said. "I'm trying to do something that the fans, who have been so good to me, will love. I'm a television watcher, and this is the kind of show that I would watch."
The CW unveiled a Comic-Con trailer for Ringer and if you weren’t already excited about it, this should put you over the edge. Ringer premieres September 13. Watch the Ringer Comic-Con trailer after the jump!

Good that she has those expectations, b/c this "Ringer" looks like shit and she's not that good in it. The only way I see it getting a season two is if the Buffy fans blindly support it.

This looks amazing to me. I am glad SMG said she's not trying to emulate Buffy though. An actor shouldn't go through with a new show just to get another hit.

I love Sara Michelle will watch any show she does, the ringer looks awesome, I have followed her career since Swan's Crossing, where she played an Erica Kane type character and then when that show got cancelled she ended up on All My Children and rocked it,
