Michael B. Jordan Returns to Parenthood

If you weren’t familiar with former The Wire, All My Children and Friday Night Lights star Michael B. Jordan before he debuted on NBC’s Parenthood, plan on seeing a lot more of him this fall. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan has signed on the dotted line to recur as Alex during Parenthood’s upcoming third season.

“I love the show and working with NBC and there’s not a reason for me not to come back,” Jordan told The Hollywood Reporter. “I love working with Peter [Krause], Sarah and Monica [Potter]; it’s like being in another family environment that’s very similar to Friday Night Lights.

Jordan’s character Alex dates Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina’s (Monica Potter) daughter Haddie (Sarah Ramos). In one memorable episode last season, Haddie accidently dialed her parent’s phone while making out with Alex. Let’s just say they didn’t take the incident well.

Meanwhile, I'm still holding out hope Jordan will return to All My Children as Jackson's (Walt Willey) adopted son Reggie before it leaves ABC in September.

In other Parenthood news, TVLine is reporting that Jason Ritter's Mark will reunite with Lauren Graham's Sarah for multiple episodes next season. Ritter had starred in NBC's now canceled The Event.

What a terrific actor he is! The final episode of Friday Night Lights just aired in Canada on Wednesday (it airs on NBC on Friday, July 15th from 8pm to 9:30), and his relationship with Coach Taylor was the highlight of the past couple of seasons. On Parenthood, I really enjoy how he fits into the family and there are no easy answers for Adam and Kristina's uneasiness about his role in their daughter's life. I can't wait for the new season!

Thumbs up to this news! Alex and Haddie are really good together. Glad Parenthood got renewed. It's one of the few bright spots left on TV.
