Jem and The Holgrams Nab "Truly Outrageous" Ratings For The Hub!
Jerrica Benton is back, bitches! The Nielsen ratings for The Hub during the week of May 23–29 have been released and the Memorial Day weekend marathons of Family Game Night, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Pound Puppies and 80's cartoon soap opera Jem and The Holograms helped the kid cabler boast record ratings.
The marathons also assisted The Hub original series R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series and Dan Vs., both of which saw significant gains in key demos, according to a press release. I don't know about you guys, but I attribute The Hub's success last weekend to one thing and one thing only — Showtime, Synergy!
I bet there were more Gen X'ers watching The Hub during the amaze-tastic, six-episode Jem marathon than crumb snatchers. I predict this could be a game changer for the Discovery-owned network.
How incredibly awesome was it to relive the saga of music, secret identities, holographic computers controlled by glam, ruby starlight earrings and rock goddesses with multi-colored hair? The Hub is already airing reboots of GI Joe and Transformers. They simply have to do a 2011 take on Jem/Jerrica's battles with the dastardly Eric Raymond and his Misfits!
Jem and The Holograms airs Tues–Fri at 7:30 am EST/4:30 am PST and again on Saturday mornings at 10 am EST/7 am PST on The Hub.

Hey, I'll admit it. I watched a few episodes of Jem myself. Between Jem reruns and new episodes of Looney Tunes show on CN, I'm in cartoon heaven!
Did anybody else catch Elmer Fudd's ode to grilled cheese? Hilarious!

I loved this show back in the day. I even had a few of the dolls and played the tapes excessively. Good times.

I have to admit this is now on my DVR series recording. Everytime I watch it I instantly go into 80s cartoon heaven. I hope they pick up Rainbow Brite next. I love The Hub

Loved it. I have some of the dolls, and I have some of the songs on RealPlayer. Jem was one of my favorite cartoon soaps.

Jem has held up very well, it's very watchable and enjoyable looking at it from an adult pov.
I haven't seen the GI Joe reboot. GI Joe and Jem were my cartoons back in the day, GI Joe has also held up very well. Well, the 80s version anyway, I pretend that the 90s episodes don't exist.
I don't get the cult following for that My Little Ponies reboot. It's impossible for me to figure out how anyone over 7 can watch it, but fandom's weird like that and I've seen stranger things.

I definitely watched the JEM marathon. Love the HUB! And good news for those of us who bought the previous two DVD sets of JEM (with the last set never being released), SHOUT Factory is releasing the whole set as a complete series. I was SO disappointed when Rhino split season 3 into two sets and then failed to release part two before they were bought out by Sony. Part two had all the Stingers episodes on it, which I was looking forward to, since I hadn't seen them since I was younger. Thank God for YT, and now the HUB, even though I'm sure I'll buy the DVD set anyway LOL
Now if only Hasbro would re-release the dolls....

Jem was a beautiful time. It was unlike any of the other cartoons really at the time. I had the dolls - but just the Misfits, Pizzazz, Stormer, Jetta and Clash. I think Stormer was my favorite because she was so torn between good and bad.
