CBS Reveals 2011-2012 Fall Schedule

Unlike ABC and NBC, which both have a number of slots to fill; the CBS schedule is quite stable. The Tiffany network announced its 2011-2012 schedule on May 18, introducing just five new series to its lineup. 2 Broke Girls joins the network’s Monday comedy lineup. Unforgettable will follow NCIS: Los Angeles on Tuesday.

No freshman series will air on Wednesday, but CBS has moved CSI from its Thursday timeslot to Wednesday, where it will follow Criminal Minds. This provides an opening for the network to shake things up on Thursday. Now, How to be a Gentleman and Person of Interest will join the war against Fox's Bones, The X Factor and American Idol and ABC’s Charlie’s Angels and Grey’s Anatomy.

Friday nights will kick off with newcomer A Gifted Man, while Rules of Engagement moves to Saturday. Those wondering what happened to The Good Wife on Tuesday will be happy to learn the critically acclaimed drama has been moved to Sunday nights, where it will air opposite of Desperate Housewives. Grr,, Not a good Choice to move The Good Wife to Sunday Nights in the fall. Sunday Night football will be going on and I used to watch CSI Miami all the time til they moved it to sunday nights at 10! The Good Wife is my fav show..why does CBS continue to screw things up?

The Good Wife doesn't affect me by the move to Sunday. We never started to watch the show, but now wish we had. I have 3 HD DVR's and would have plenty of space to DVR the show as we do everything anyway. So, it would not affect us in anyway. I want to know what happened to all of the other CSI shows?

The Good Wife on Sundays is a disaster. Because of football, it will start at 9:20 one week, 9:35 the next, then maybe 9:17. If your PVR records automatically, will it catch the whole show? Will fans set their recorders to cover a two- or three-hour window, as we used to have to do with Cold Case or Without A Trace (which were likely cancelled due to fans missing chunks of each episode. Stupid, stupid, stupid move.

Looks like CBS has called upon Jesus and J.J. Abrams to 'lift-up' their ratings on Thursday nights at 9 PM.

I am sure other people are thinking the same thing Smile

WHY are they moving THE GOOD WIFE!!

(and no. I'm not happy to learn this)

FOOTBALL! Football ALWAYS pushes 60 Minutes (zzzz) to start 45 Minutes later, then the Amazing Race LAAAATTTER..... TGW (from October to January) will start... oh, bout 11 PM!! GRRR!!

REthink that decision, CBS!

I'm sorry, TV gord. I posted (almost the same comment) as you prior to reading your comment.

Just so annoying.

That's okay, goyankees, GMTA! lol! I think a lot of us are thinking the same thing. On the bright side, maybe the NFL lockout will continue! Wink

I think its a good choice to put something fresh and vibriant (The Good Wife) against some that used to be that (Despearate Housewives). I think they are going to become Sunday's version of CSI vs. Greys with DH being CSI and TGW being Grey's. I know the number are a little shaky but I expect TGW to grow on Sundays

As much as I love Chris Noth and Christine Baranski; I will have to go with the ladies of Wisteria Lane. I will watch The Good Wife via the web or via On-Demand.

Desperate Housewives are much more funnier than The Good Wife. All the legal stuff wouldn't sit well with me on a Sunday night when I am suppose to be relaxing and preparing for the work week.

I would prefer to watch Gabbi, Bree, Renee et al make asses of themselves than 45 minutes of wondering if Lockhart/Gardner will win/loose their case.

CBS did the same reshuffle when they moved CSI to Thursday night. I really haven't watch CSI since because I am too much of a Grey's fan. Anyway CBS just lost this real-time Good Wife viewer.

I'm not happy about The Good Wife move. It wasn't doing that bad on its old time and it got good ratings the last few episodes. I guess maybe CBS thinks Parenthood shares some of its audience but so does Desperate Housewives and I think some of the cable shows that are on Sunday Night probably do too. I also hope the 9 pm time slot doesn't lead to too much censoring. I really hoep this move doesn't kill it.

I don't think censorship will be an issue, when you consider that it's also on against Family Guy. Wink

I think maybe CBS is banking on DH being tired enough that it will make a good enough dent in the ABC numbers...but as I pointed out earlier, that can only matter if the NFL lockout continues and The Good Wife actually starts on time every week.

Love the show The Good Wife (and Julianna Margulies and Alan Cumming), hate the new time slot on Sunday night. Not looking forward to having to choose between Good Wife and Masterpiece Mystery. Masterpiece Mystery's the perfect relaxation before the workweek begins. Didn't even think about football, but those comments are valid, too. Hey, CBS, there was nothing wrong with Tuesday at 10PM for The Good Wife!! But I think it's going to be the Good Wife on Sunday night now, and figure out how to get Masterpiece Mystery. Sigh.
