Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr OUT at Gossip Girl!

Vanessa was always BORING and they never really did much with her character. In the books, at least she was bald, that would have been something, lol. And Taylor Momsen was so messed up behind the scenes, they had to let her go. I didn't even miss her character, considering I stopped liking her around season 1.

I think Jenny had promise up until the end of Season 2, I think. The problem was TM, who created such drama behind the scenes. I actually think that a Jenny/Nate/Vanessa triangle would've been interesting to watch, but TPTB dropped the Jenny/Nate possible relationship rather quickly, even after Vanessa had manipulated the situation to try to keep Nate for herself (and somehow Nate completely brushed it off). I've only read the first book, but I read that Jenny and Nate were involved for a little while in the books, I sort of wonder if TPTB were too afraid of pursuing them because of TM's age.

Sadly, the only time I was really interested in Nate was when he was involved in this brief triangle. He and Serena were all right together, but I didn't really see a lot of sparks.

The show as it is today has been saved, IMO, by the possible DAIR relationship. Without the flirtation between them, I don't think I would've been that into season 4, and now that the show is back to the same ol' same ol' with Chuck and Blair, I might tune out for season 5. This show has a habit of doing the same stories over and over and over ad nauseum. That became the huge problem of Chuck and Blair (who were once steamy and interesting). I'm tired of watching Chuck treat Blair like trash, then beg for forgiveness, then win her back only for the cycle to start over again. Dan and Blair's friendship felt fresh and new. I'm also tired of crazy girls pulling the wool over Dan's eyes (Georgina, now Charlie). Dan was more interesting with Blair than he's been in ages, and Blair finally found someone who brought out the best in her without making her boring. But for some reason I cannot figure out, TPTB seemed to completely drop the Dair story in order to have Blair most likely going back to Chuck, who's not only tiresome, but often emotionally abusive, and brings out the absolute worst in our Queen B.

I always liked Taylor Momsen's performance as Jenny, but not enough to prevent me from giving up on the show around season 3. I much preferred the books to the tv series.

I sort of wonder if TPTB were too afraid of pursuing them because of TM's age.

I wondered about that too, then wondered why they had to have her sleep with Chuck. I get they wanted conflict for Chair, but, really??? OY!

Another thing is I hope they keep the DAIR thing going into next season. Did anyone watch Monday’s episode??? Serena’s cousin is officially a SWF, trying to be her. WOW. Just what they need, another nut jealous of Serena. She can go back to wherever the hell she came from, knew there was a reason I didn't like her. Being jealous of pretty cuz-cuz with the cute ex is so overplayed, lol. And I hope against hope they don’t try to restart Chair after this. From Monday’s episode and then the finale next week, it makes me think they might shove it down our throats again… Like I said, I'm a CHAIR fan from way back, but really, enough is enough and those two need SPACE a real BREAK from each other. They don't NEED to get back into that, especially after what has happened. They remind me of EJami, the definition of misery loves company. And this is coming from an EJami fan, but the doom and gloom and hurting each other because you feel betrayed gets redundant and people stop rooting for you.

Anyway, I want me some DAIR, dammit! LOL Summer got her Cohen, Blair needs her HUMPhrey!

GHfan-4now, I completely agree about Dair. I hate how TPTB spent weeks building up these feelings between them, leaving that kiss of a cliffhanger, only to return to have Blair say that the kiss was awkward and only made her realize she wanted Chuck. Chuck, who traded her to Uncle Jack for his hotel, then got pissed when she wouldn't immediately forgive him, slept with little J, then "moved on" to both Eva and Raina, telling Blair to stay out of his life. Then suddenly, Chuck's life is falling apart, and he wants Blair, NOW. It's always about what Chuck wants, when he wants it. And I'm so sick of Blair always taking him back for him to treat her like garbage all over again. She's not perfect, she's played games with him, tried to sabatage him, etc, but he brings out the WORST in her. Dan knows that she plays games, but with him, she seems to want to be a better person. And I love when he tells people that she's not that bad, that she's different than what he thought. And I loved when Blair told Serena that she finally saw the appeal of Dan. I was hoping that Dan would show up at this party with Charlie, Blair would see them and get all possessive over him. But there was not a SINGLE Dair scene. How disappointing!

I like the comparison to Seth and Summer, but I read an even better comparison somewhere else online: Pacey and Joey from Dawson's Creek. Dawson was supposedly Joey's "soulmate", Joey and Pacey hated each other for two seasons, and then in season 3 the two of them became friends and Pacey started to develop feelings for Joey. At the very end, Joey ended up choosing to be with Pacey, I really hope in the end Blair realizes it's Dan that she belongs with

OMG, YES, Conquering Blue! That really pissed me off. So the kiss with Dan was awkward and made you realize you want CHUCK??? WHHAAATTT??? I literally shook my head in shame. I am just so disgusted with them thinking that we are just as obsessed with the back and forth between Chair as they are. What the hell is the harm in putting Blair with a viable contender for her heart for a change like Dan??? I mean, damn, even Kelly got Brandon and Dylan (even if I preferred her with Brandon, as I thought Brenda/Dylan were soulmates, lol) But in Blair's case, it's always some rich pretty boy that we KNOW she'll never really choose in the end, over Chuck. Dan is someone that could easily steal her heart for real, sweep her off her feet, and they could still have that cute, witty banter with the IMMENSE sex appeal! I LUVVV THEM! Why do they think we don't WANT this couple??? They just ooze chemistry!

And I honestly thought I missed something on Monday as I kept watching the show. I thought, okay, do we get NO DAIR scenes whatsoever??? After all of that buildup and the kisses and all the wondering and possibilites and we get SQUAT now?? Honestly, WTF??? That just irritated me to the high end, and then she’s all concerned about CHUCK!!! Chuck’s calling, I have to meet Chuck, I have to tell Chuck that Jack is back in town! GAH!!!! chuck, chuck, chuck, you know I could give a f**k.

OMG, the Pacey and Joey comparison is PERFECT!!!! How did I not think of that when I literally blessed Kevin Williamson for making them endgame, lol! I have all seasons on DVD, lol. Dawson’s Creek was my drug and Pacey and Joey were so perfect for each other, I loved them from the first time he spontaneously kissed her on the side of the road!

Hahaha After posting this I started watching some Pacey/Joey scenes on YT, I loved them too! I'm also with you on the Kelly/Brandon, Dylan/Brenda pairings. I much preferred Kelly with Brandon lol

I don't understand why Blair was so concerned about Chuck in this episode, either. Right after he got so worked up over her choosing her "prince" that he punched a glass window and showered her in glass? This BOY is a nutcase! He is no longer sympathetic to me. I don't get it. I read all these comments on the GG facebook page from fans who are all "Awwww poor Chuck, he needs Blair", but when I watch him I just think that he needs to be ALONE, because he ruins everything and only feels badly about it when his life starts to fall apart, even though he's usually responsible for that. Only then does he want Blair, because she will make everything better, until he's all better again, then it's back to treating her like a punching bag. This warped, dysfunctional relationship is not entertaining for me at ALL. I understood it when Blair was still in high school, and even when she first started college. But she is growing up, it's time for a grown up relationship.

And I have to say, I was a little bit offended that we the viewers did not get to see any of these two actual KISSES between Blair and Dan. It almost felt like TPTB purposely didn't show them because they were shipping Chair and didn't want fans to sway toward Dair! I mean, not showing the reaction from that first kiss, and then that "staged" kiss that we only got to see on a shaky camera through gossip girl? Part of me wants to believe that it was on purpose because a bigger, better kiss is coming soon, but I am cynical. So I believe that it was mostly because they didn't want to piss off the Chuck/Blair fans.

The funny thing is, I almost quit this show at the beginning of the season. I stuck around because I was intrigued by the Juliet story, the gaslighting of Serena, and I even sort of wanted Serena and Dan back together. But then Serena kind of blew him off (again), and he and Blair started hanging out, and I was completely hooked on Dair. Now? Back to the same repetitive CRAP with Chuck and Blair. If there is no promise of Dair for the future, I might have to quit this show for good, I am THAT pissed off LOL

Taylor Momsen is a douchebag, so good riddance to her. Jessica Szohr has always been a good actress who doesn't seem to display any attitude or diva-like tendencies, so it's sad that she's leaving the show. I'd substitute Chace Crawford for Jessica. Chace has always been purdy to look at, but mediocre at best as an actor!!!

lol, Conquering Blue, thanks! These days, it's easy to come up with negative rhymes for Chuck BassTard. And I agree, he is a total nutcase, I just can't even get the point of understanding and defending anymore, and I usually defend the fictional baddies if I feel they have some sort of purpose or reason, but IMO, he's just selfish and has crossed WAY over the line for me to even care anymore. When they carted his ass off, I hoped they'd stick him in a gutter somewhere to rot for awhile.

And with Dair, I was offended too that we didn't get to see those kisses. I mean WHAT a wasted opportunity for the show and a slap in the face to the fans.

YES! And you're not cynical because I feel the same way. Or, maybe we both are BUT for good reason, lol. I just don't GET it! I see more and more people are wanting DAIR! They see the chemistry but TPTB are just OBSESSED with Chair, I mean, what the hell??? The show has been REVITALIZED with Dair! I'm just like you, when Dan/Blair started hanging out for real, I thought 'hmm, now THEY could work'. Honestly, they are really the only reason I have been really sticking it out this whole season too, because for a long time, I was just so bored out of my mind with the Chair back and forth, back and forth, hate/sex, hate/sex. Good grief.

The 90s was where it was at! LOL Kelly/Brandon, Brenda/Dylan, Pacey/Joey... I need to hit up YouTube again for some mvids!
