MTV's Skins Debuts To 3.26 Million Viewers!

MTV's Skins is off to a great start. According to Broadcasting & Cable, the series premiered with 3.26 millions. The publication states the network received pulled in 2.7 million in the 12-34 demo, making it the most core viewers for a show debut in network history! I know Jamey loved the premier of the American version of Skins, but he's never seen the originally. What did you guys think?

Well... if I have to give anything to this (and it pains me to do so) is that this version fits into what this network has evolved into and thus these ratings and the sounds of MTV patting themselves on the back.

Jamey, the original version is better filmed with more charismatic actors. The third generation UK comes out next week and looks promising.

I couldn't catch the MTV version last night, but I'm not too broken up about it.. NONE of the American remakes of a British series that I have seen, not even The Office which comes pretty close, has ever been able to duplicate the original to my satisfaction.

we have broken through the British wall. We don't need to remake every stinking series. We can just watch the original! The new series is a pale pale comparison to the original. It not only has problems with a lead that lacks charisma, and is slightly menacing instead of charming, but everyone looks underfed and droopy. The islamic boy seemed to have some promise. As a first generation Skins fans it was so underperforming. What did they do to my show, if they are going to change it like they did then they should have went with all new characters and just keep the premise no Maxxie or Chris and Jal, and Tony is just lame.
I hate American remakes of British shows for one we can't match the content and we attempt to beautfy all the characters. Please America don't touch my Misfits!

ICAM, this remake is absolutely ridiculous! If they have the audacity to attempt to redo "Misfits" I will save up my money, not pay rent if I have to, and go down to the studio to slap the shiotz out of every last producer. I don't even care if I'm arrested!
