ABC Renews Six Series!

ABC handed out renewals for six of its popular series Monday. Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice both earned additional seasons, as did the network’s Wednesday comedies Modern Family, The Middle and Cougar Town. Nathan Fillion’s Castle was the other ABC series renewed.
Of some concern to yours truly, was the lack of good news for my favorite Sunday series Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. Let’s hope we get good news about them soon.

They HAVE to renew 'Desperate Housewives' and 'Brothers and Sisters'!!!!
Aside from Grey's Anatomy, they are the BEST shows on ABC primetime!!!
If either of these shows get canceled, I will not be a happy man!!!!!!!!!!

I'm certain DH isn't going anywhere. Marc Cherry has a development deal with ABC, so (considering their ratings) they won't cancel DH until he's ready to let it go.
As for B&S, it appeared last spring--when the fall season schedule was announced--that it was heading into its final season...but when you combine the fact that they've ordered more episodes with the reality that all of ABC's new hour-long shows have faltered, I don't think they can afford to lose B&S, if they can help it.

I still love Brothers & Sisters, but, for me, Desperate Housewives has run its course. The last time I was really interested in this show was when Alfre Woodard was on. I'm a big fan of Vanessa Williams, so it breaks my heart to admit that her character has been a poor substitute for the Edie Britt character.

I watched DH from the beginning but gave it up for a while last season/season before. I started back this season and I really am enjoying it and I am liking Vanessa Williams although I wish they hadn't killed off Edie. Sometimes though there are so many twists and turns I have a hard time keeping up with the ongoing story (the reason why I gave up Lost).
Brothers and Sisters though is my FAVORITE non-soap show on the air right now! I think that it has only gotten better over the seasons. I may have my seasons confused b/c I had alot of eppys on TIVO that I caught up on but two eppys that stand out to me as some of the BEST B&S eppys of all time are recent and are last seasons car accident/death of Rob Lowe and either last seasons or season befores eppy where Kevin found out that it was him and not Tommy who paralyzed that boy in a fight when he was younger. Brothers and Sisters has what alot of shows on the air are lacking these days: Heart. There are no superheros, no big shooting scenes or explosions, at the heart of the show there is only family. There are no shows left like that anymore. There are no more 7th Heavens or Gilmore Girls out there these days and B & S fills that family type of show space. Not to mention, the comedy is there as well. The Walkers crack me up! I really hope that the show will continue because as far as I'm concerned, there isn't anything like it on television right now.
