Glee Creator Eyes New Musical Comedy Series Starring The Chenoweth

Prolific television creator/writer Ryan Murphy, The creator of the pop-culture phenom Glee, is in negotiations to create a 30-minute musical comedy series starring Emmy and Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, a woman of such enormous talent and appeal onscreen (and onstage) that I insist on calling her The Chenoweth. Enertainment Weekly reports:
...the new show would not be a spin-off, but rather a brand new series that would showcase Chenoweth’s unique talent. “I’ve always wanted to do something for Kristin,” Murphy was quoted as saying. “Kristin is a good, close friend of mine obviously, so I’m writing a half-hour musical comedy specifically for Kristin because if you can sing like that, I want her to be the star of her own show where she sings. I can’t say too much about it yet. Kristin is so funny. I want it to be adult.” The project is in its nascent stages, but EW can confirm that Chenoweth is indeed in negotiations to star.
Chenoweth won a Tony for her role in the Broadway hit Wicked, and an Emmy for her role in the short-lived but critically acclaimed Pushing Daisies. She is nominated for another Emmy this year for her amazing guest role on Glee (where, for my money, she should win) but she faces formidable competition from Betty White's appearance on SNL which was both a major TV event and Facebook-approved.
