Who Will James Franco Play on General Hospital?

As Hollywood and the soap world react to the stunning news that movie star James Franco is coming to General Hospital, ABC has been ramping up expectations (and publicity) by dropping hints about Franco's upcoming role. In a blurb on EW.com, Jori Petersen teases:
"The only thing I can tell you about his character right now is he is playing a mysterious person who comes to Port Charles who will be Jason Morgan's worst nightmare."
The short article also mentions the interesting fact that both Franco and Steve Burton share the same manager. The role is expected to shoot for roughly two weeks and air for about two months. Read the entire article here.

And of course JaSam will be in that how great
the story with Manny and Jerry were great it was more than just mob it was evil, Manny and Jerry were not like any other mobster they were psychopath ..
I am hoping that this new character will be like this he maybe won't be even in the mob maybe he will have connection to Sam and that will put him on the path with Jason ..
And I am not shock that he will be with Steve , Steve is one of the stars of the show

Something short-term yet meaty enough to lure a movie actor to daytime TV...
How about a recently released rapist/pronographer Tom, back to terrorize Jason's sister (who helped put him in jail) and Jason's true love (who he raped when she was a teenager).
With JJ coming back revisiting one of the strongest stories he was in (Liz's rape) would make sense...

If he comes on as one of Jason's worst enemies then it will probably have something to do with someone he loves (or many of the people he loves). I was going to say Jake, since keeping his son out of danger is his biggest thing. I am not heading in a pro Liason or a pro JaSam thing here (I am tired of that argument); but if it were Jake then it would have all of them working together like in November. Liz the mom, Lucky the 'dad', Sam the detective and who cares deeply for Jason, and Jason who cares deeply for almost all involved.
However, I will not be surprised if it is mob related and something happens with Sam (I have heard rumors on other sites about the Romeo and Juliet references)... or maybe if they had something happen with Monica (hmmmm)- they have been trying to integrate stories here lately.
Either way I am excited with all of the new changes.

Just have to say I was pretty upset by some of the comments posted regarding this on the EW site. So I'd like to post the my response from that site here............
I really wish you people who are trashing soap opera’s would really take the time to watch them before you off handedly bash them. Yes they have cheesy story lines but there no worse than reality shows and a lot of primetime shows have soap elements. Also take the time to watch the so-called “horrible” actors before you criticize. Some of them turn out wonderful work even when the stories are not top caliper. If they were given the chance, some would and some have, gone on to do bigger and better things. And let’s remember even oscar winners and A list movie stars will admit that soap actors are really some of the hardest working actors out of the whole profession. I bet you will find after all his filming is done James Franco will talk about the major differences in sitting around on a movie set doing maybe two pages of script and blasting through 30 plus pages in 12 or more hr. days on GH.
Yes GH is “The Soprano’s” of daytime which EW has already reported on about 5 years back but it has been doing Mob story lines since the days of Luke and Laura and EVERYONE was watching then. This and the bringing back of Jonathan Jackson are some of the biggest stunts they’ve pulled to get ratings but soap operas are a dying breed, so whatever gets soaps press are fine in my book. I would love to see more movie and primetime actors try out guest starring arcs on daytime. Whatever helps the genre. Remember it’s wasn’t so long ago that if you saw a movie star on your television you said the same thing about them throwing away their careers and wondered what they were thinking.
Here, Here to James Franco! and to the haters get informed before you talk trash. (A good soap to try if your interested in GOOD soap is One Life To Live, I wish some other movie actor or primetime actor would try that soap out the writers there would give them great story!)

Good on you SoCalLiasonite. I read some of the comments on EW but I decided not to reply. Quite frankly I couldn't be bothered. Some of the best acting on TV is on daytime, it has been that way for years and if these idiots can't see that then so be it.

Yeah, they are idiots. I did bag on daytime for the terrible s/ls and some bad acting, but there are some great actors and actresses that came from daytime and love the industry and they couldn't do the things that soap actors do. I'm not an actor, but I couldn't do the dialogue and very long hours of work on the set and not down time or rehearsal time. I can't wait for JF on GH and glad that this is getting buzz for the soap industry that desperately needs the publicity.

I'm going to guess he'll be a mobster (shocker! lol) But I'm okay with that. I've always said that I can accept GH basically being a mobster show if the writing is good. If the story rocks, then I will be soooo onboard with it!!
We've got him for two months worth of shows, it's basically a hit and run so he's got to make an impact in a short amount of time. A Webber or a Q just wouldn't make sense (that would be better for a longterm character.) A Cassadine would work though, since there's a story developing for the Cassadines right now and it'll involve a lot of characters. I guess we'll see.
Sorry to the person who said they want him to be a rapist, but that's something I don't want to see. I'm so disgusted with the way soaps handle rape storylines, and if I never see another rapist on a soap it'll be too soon. It's too serious a subject matter for GH to use it as a short term gimmick story (like with Jax's rape or Em's rape by Nik's doppelganger.)

I am too excited to think any negative thoughts about this right now, I will with-hold any opinions about the caliber of the story until I see it play out on my screen. EEEEEEEEEEEEE! This may be the well needed shot in the arm for GH and soaps in General!!!
