MJ #161: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review
By Movie Junkie Online on July 21, 2009

See what's brewing in the movie junkie realm as Luke, Craig and Susan discuss the latest Harry Potter film. Is the cast aging well, or will they soon go from battling death eaters and evil nemeses to battling male pattern baldness and weak 401(k) returns? Which performance, described by Craig as "masterful", only achieved mundane status in Luke's opinion? Not only is Susan "completely wrong" about something right off the bat, she also fails to anticipate how many times the guys have seen the movie. Everyone will be surprised by what Craig has to say about one of the female leads. What's happening to our cast? Does the film have us spellbound? Click to find out.

WOW, Craig and Luke you guys liked this movie way more than I did. I think it was talk, talk, talk, talk. All I can say is I hope this was a lot of setup for the last 2 movies. I'll give it a 2.5 to a 3 out of five at most!

wow I just discovered this podcast and I love it...you should really promote it a bit more Luke....If I hadn't been bored tonight I never would have clicked on the link...
The fight scene in the Room of Requirent doesn't take place until the 7th book so yeah they didn't do anything wrong there...in fact I think they showed it more in the movie than they did in the book where we had no idea what Malfoy was up to...
I'm really commenting because I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and I am in complete agreement with you Luke about the 5th movie...I remember I left the theater completely upset that they had ruined my favorite book in the series (excluding the 7th)...David Yates has redeemed himself with this one and he better not mess up the last two....My only complaint is that they didn't show enough of Voldemort's memories and explain all the different horcruxes since finding them is what the 7th book was all about... 4/5 stars from me!!!
now I'm going to listen to some of the other episodes of this surprisingly great podcast....

Seriously, Luke, if you call him "Snipe" one more time I'm probably going to be dragged away by the men in white coats. This is mainly due to the fact that I'm out on my walk while listening to the show and every time you say it I'm screaming "IT'S SNAPE" at nobody (to the casual passerby). Otherwise, great show everyone!

I did indeed like the movie. I found it a great build up to the final battle and was thrilled that this seemed like the first real movie. And the kids are finally growing up. And it is Severus Snape...Ha!
